Rio Negro Sport Fishing Club - Panama

The Rio Negro Sport Fishing Club was founded by Alex Livingston, Billy Boughner and Tommy Giles as a retirement project. The the club was located on the remote Western coast of Panama's Azuero Peninsula, near some of finest salt water fishing grounds in the Tropical Eastern Pacific. A major component of the project was boat building in the off season. "Magoo" was the 34' flagship, built "one off" from the keel up in fiberglass and PVC framing, without the use of a mold. The catch was extraordinarily diverse and world class with some days being an absolutely wicked bite. Depending upon the season, each guest had a reasonable expectation to catch monster size Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Wahoo, Amberjack, Pacific Sailfish, Yellow-fin Tuna, Blue-fin Trevally, Cero Mackerel, Corvina, Broom Tail Grouper, Dorado and Black Marlin. With ever increasing operational expenses, workload and evolving personal interests, they closed the club.
